The member artists of Art Presence Art Center are back! After a long hiatus during which local plein air works reveled in the gallery’s spotlight, our members are excited to show you their works celebrating the every day beauty and charm of life in Jacksonville, Oregon.  The show opens Friday, August 31 and continues every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in September, ending on Sunday, September 30.

Join us for a festive reception celebrating the artists behind Jacksonville: People, Places and Things, as well as guest artist Dan Mish and our recently renovated gallery space! Come to the gallery at 206 North 5th Street in Jacksonville, OR on Saturday, September 1, from 1–3 pm. Chat with the artists over hors d’oeuvres catered by Bella Union and champagne, listen to beautiful live music by Minstrel Streams, enjoy an early look at our September exhibitions and celebrate our new interior!

Art Presence Art Center will host a Retrospective of Elaine Witteveen, who passed away in March  Her work goes from realistic to experimental and uses a variety of media, including watercolor, acrylic and collage.

The prices on these works is unbelievably reasonable, the highest price being $375 for a full sheet watercolor, glassed and framed.  Her sketch books will be for sale and there are many unframed paintings

The piece can go home with you upon purchase.

If you are an interior designer or just redesigning your own space, come take a look, beautiful fine art at very reasonable prices.

The exhibit opens on Friday, September 4th at 11:00 and ends on Sunday, September 26th.  The gallery is open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11 to 5 PM.  We are located at 206 Fifth Street in Jacksonville OR, next to the Courthouse.

Elaine Witteveen Retrospective

Art Presence presents an exhibit of paintings by Elaine Witteveen, including watercolors, acrylics and collage. The show opens on September 4th, Friday and runs through September 27th, Sunday.  The gallery is open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11 to 5 PM.  There will be a reception for the exhibit on Saturday, the 5th from 12 to 3 PM.  All works are for sale, including many unframed originals.

She started the Monday Artists  Workshop in 1979 and continued to paint with the group until her death in March, 2015.

She had lived in Jacksonville since 1964 and has been an incredible role model for many local artists.

During the month of October, Art Presence Art Center has as it’s theme, “El Dia de Los Muertos” or Day of the Dead. The paintings, assemblages, altars, and photographs are truly representational of the celebration and culture of the time.
