“There is something about the intensity of color when using watercolor that is so appealing to me. The paint can react just a bit beyond my control at times, creating unplanned surprises that can delight me. As my interests vary, so do my paintings. I enjoy painting traditional still life and floral subject matter that many times include ancient ornament and architectural detail and then switch gears and use pattern as my primary motivation which tends to create a painting with a more contemporary edge.”
