Trujillo is primarily a landscape painter who works directly from life, or ‘en plein air’ as it was called by the great French impressionists. Color, light, and atmospheric conditions are initially what attract her to a scene. Although the process of painting on location is somewhat arduous, she finds great pleasure in immersing herself in the surroundings that she captures in paint. With a career history of teaching and producing art for over 30 years, Silvia’s work has appeared in museums, is collected by both private and public entities, and has won numerous awards. Currently she stays active in the Oregon art scene where she lives.
