Art Presence Art Center will feature “Year of the Dragon” on the shelves of their Authors’ Gallery in February, 2024. Debbie Chinn’s first publication, “Dancing in Their Light”, 2022, can also be found there. Both books chronicle the life of Debbie Chinn, a proud daughter of Chinese immigrants, growing up in the families’ enterprise of establishing the Mah Jong Restaurant, and later, the Polynesian nightclub, popular culinary destinations during the gilded age of dining from 1960 to 1980. Debbie shares her experiences of coming of age in that family enterprise.

Her latest publication, “Year of the Dragon” is a colorful graphic memoir and pays homage to Chinese New Year, representing new beginnings. Artist and writer, Ginna BB Gordon, created the exquisite colorable illustrations found within the pages of this book.
